How to White-Line Your Next Project

PUPS Mission Statement

Mapping Project

PUPS needs your help with our Mapping Project…

In an effort to improve our street data, PUPS is requesting assistance from local mapping authorities.  Rhonda Dotman with PUPS is attempting to secure the latest GIS Mapping Data from all 46 SC counties in order to keep PUPS system up-to-date.  If you have a relationship with anyone in local government who could assist Rhonda, please make a phone call on her behalf or forward this message to the appropriate persons.  The following is a list of the specifics needed:

**Street centerline data and point addresses (if available).

Street data should be in the following format:

Attribute Table – include the prefix, name, suffix, type and              Town name.  Also, what projection the information is in.

Point address data should be in the following format:

Attribute Table – include the address # and town name.

ESRI – ArcGIS format (in a shape file)

Rhonda can be reached at 1-800-290-2783 press 1 or by email at rdotman@sc1pups.org  This project will benefit everyone from the caller to the member as PUPS is able to better the maps that carry our member data through the system to the completed ticket.  With better maps, the quality of the tickets will be improved, and there will be less frustration on the part of the caller who must give directions to a street that is currently not on our map.  There will also be less over-notification of the membership base, which will benefit all parties involved.  Thank you for your help!
