What’s Happening With P.U.P.S. & Around South Carolina: Effective immediately, P.U.P.S. now screens Updates. When
calling in tickets to be updated, the work has to be in
progress or already started. If work is not in progress or has
not been started, a new ticket is required giving a 3 working
day (72 hours) notice prior to the work start date. Effective January 1, 2006, a survey excavation notice will be considered a normal excavation notice. The Board of Directors has designated a new non-excavation notice. The “Design” notice or ticket is a one-time notice with a 10 working day life span. The design notice will not be updated or renewed. This notice allows member utilities as a courtesy to mark their underground facilities within the ten-day life cycle. The below information will be sent out on each design ticket request: “Design tickets are courtesy tickets. The utilities will mark the requested area on a voluntary basis. Members are to locate within 10 working days, please call requestor if you are unable to locate within the 10 working days.”
