Any utilities that are not stated on your email confirmation or state to you via the phone must be notified directly.

Color Code markings used by utility members are:

Red - Electric

Yellow - Gas

Orange - Communication, Telephone, Cable TV

Blue - Water

Green – Sewer

By South Carolina State Law you must allow a 2½ foot margin on each side of the markings for the appropriate location of underground facilities.

The locate will be good for 15 working days from the date of the 72-hour notice.  You will need to update on the 12th working if the work will take longer than 15 working days.

P.U.P.S. member utilities mark only the underground utility lines they maintain.  For example, water and sewer companies only mark their lines they install and maintain up to their meter or taps.  

Survey tickets:  Member utilities will be notified to contact the requestor within 72 hours to make

 arrangements for the survey ticket.

Just remember, Any utilities that are not named must be notified directly.
